-Join us for the "Dance on Film" event on April 19th, 2025, in New York City, a not-to-be-missed opportunity to explore the intersection of dance and cinematic expression. This unique workshop is helmed by Emmy-nominated director Brian Thomas and award-winning choreographer Carlos Neto, providing participants with an unparalleled on-set experience.
What’s Included:
✔️ Pre-Workshop Preparation – Choreography will be sent to you via video in advance. Carlos Neto will also teach it in his class at Broadway Dance Center the week before.
✔️ On-Set Experience – Perform on a professional film set with industry-standard lighting and camera work.
✔️ Cinematic Dance Video – Your performance will be professionally filmed and edited into a high-quality final product.
✔️ Editing & Post-Production – The final cut will take at least 2 weeks to ensure a polished, professional result.

Carlos Neto has choreographed and directed for Warner Brothers, SyCo Music, Sony BMG, Atlantic Records, Brooklyn Nets, Britain’s Got Talent, Matchbox Twenty, Melanie Martinez, Sergey Lazarev, the Broadway production of Circolombia, The Fringe NYC, ITV’s Got To Dance, Samsung.

In 2014 NYIT Awards presented him with the honor of “Outstanding Choreography/Movement” for his off-broadway work. Worldwide, Carlos has danced for the Dutch show BLAZE; played the role of ‘Sudsy’ in West End’s hit show Some Like It Hip Hop; portrayed John Travolta’s character in the Nintendo video game Grease, and danced for PS3 Sony Dance Star Party. He was featured in the Bloomingdales 2015 commercial in the USA, choreographed Rob Thomas’s come back single “Trust You”, Melanie Martinez’s “Training Wheels” video and was the creative director of the largest dance competition in the world World Of Dance. He is a faculty member at the 3 most prestigious dance schools in NYC – Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey and Peridance. Carlos is one of the selected Expert Contributors to Backstage.com

Brian Thomas is an Emmy Nominee & Award-Winning Director, Filmmaker, and Celebrity Choreographer with a career spanning over three decades in television, film, and live performance. He moved to New York City in 1992 and trained at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center. Over the next 10 years he danced and choreographed for many other artists like Whitney Houston, Pink, Alicia Keys, Usher, Liza Minnelli, Jason Derulo, Mary J, Mya, Ricky Martin, and ultimately choreographing his dream show—the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Special, a project that earned him an Emmy Nomination.

His passion for visual storytelling expanded into directing and filmmaking, leading to his first feature documentary film, Amy’s Victory Dance. The film won numerous awards and secured distribution on Amazon Prime, Delta Airlines, and many other streaming platforms today. He also spent over a decade working on Sesame Street, earning Emmy Recognition for his contributions to the series. Additionally, he worked on numerous episodes of The All-New Electric Company, further solidifying his reputation as a creative force in television.
